Yelich delivers walk-off win; Crew gains ground

Mike Moustakas took a tying four-pitch walk with the bases loaded in the eighth inning, and National League Player of the Week Christian Yelich legged out an RBI fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth to finish a seesaw win over the Cubs that boosted the Brewers’ hopes in the NL Central. Third baseman Kris Bryant fielded Yelich’s grounder and, rather than throwing home, let his momentum carry him to the third-base bag, and his throw to first, in an attempt at an inning-ending double play, was not in time. Anthony Rizzo had given the Cubs a lead with a two-run homer in the eighth.
